7月10日、VCT Stage2 Masters Copenhagen 2022 – Group Stage Day1 Northeption(JP) vs DRX(KR)の対戦が行われた。前回日本王者 ZETA DIVISIONを破り、この舞台に立ったNortheption、前回優勝候補と言われたが夢半ばで終わったDRXとの対戦となった。
Map1 アセントでは3rdラウンドから流れをつかみ、4ラウンド連取をするものの、その後は圧倒的なDRXペースが続き、4-10まで離されることとなった。さらにその後、またも後半3rdラウンドから4ラウンド連取をしたものの、DRXのスリフティが通り、最終的に8-13でマップを落とすこととなった。
Map2 バインドではディフェンダースタートにて果敢にプッシュなどを行ったものの、それをさらに上回るDRXに仕留められる形となった。最後まで、引け目の姿勢とならないところを見せてくれたが、圧倒的なDRXに押し出され、1-13で敗北となった。
試合後インタビューにてBlackwiz選手は「セットはDRXを参考にして作っていたが、それをメタられる形になった。」と答え、xnfri選手は「何もできず、虚しい気持ちでいっぱいです。」と悔しい気持ちを表した。
最後に、Blackwiz選手は「DRXには負けてしまったが、自分たちは1回負けてからが強いと思うので、次に勝ってプレイオフまでは行きたいと思います。」と意気込みを語った。
敗北したNortheptionはグループステージ BグループLower Bracketに進み、FPX vs XIAの敗北した方と闘うことになる。試合開始は7月12日（火） 24時からとなる。
